STORY # 1
Since
So many use this Facebook forum to show the world what they had for lunch, and
other useless <but often fun> nonsense, I have a Beware of
Selfish/Unsafe Drivers Story for you:
So I'm sitting in my
office and the landline office phone rings... I'm going to paraphrase the conversation
because there we a lot of interrupting each other /and repeating of what
was said ... and you should also know that on the day in question the "driver" of our truck was my husband, so I knew very well what style of driver he was, and what he would or would not do in traffic.
ME: Hello, How can i help you
Caller : You should be ashamed of yourself driving like that, I need to get my 85 year old uncle to the hospital he's sick
ME: Excuse me? I'm not in a vehicle
<several back and forth comments of her being upset & yelling,
and me trying to figure out who/what/why this woman was yelling at
me>
CALLER : your driver in a white chevy <describes
vehicle> with glass on the side just cut me off. <hear
honking> that's him right now honking at me!!!
Me: Just a moment please......<keyboard clicking> I just accessed the auto tracker and it shows he hasn't changed lanes in more than 3 miles, so I'm going to assume you tried to cut into his lane and he didn't allow you to cheat.
<BTW i have NO auto tracker, But I have an app on my cell phone that told me where his phone was at that moment, and I added that to where I knew he was coming from and where he was going to>
CALLER : I HAD MY TURN SIGNAL ON!!!!! There's construction here on
foothill - He tried to Run me off the road, He needs to be fired!!!
ME: Your turn signal doesn't make it your turn, Maybe you should re-read the driver training manual rules.
CALLER : <something obscured by street noise> I'm going to report YOU to the POLICE!!!
ME: You go for it <smile>.
I then call the PASSENGER of the truck : Apparently, she crossed over 3
lanes to get in to the merge/exit lane from the carpool lane - no signal, no passenger. When her lane
ended she PASSED 4 more cars using the shoulder BEFORE turning on her signal and attempting to
squeeze in front of him. He didn't make it easy, but let her in. At
the next light she pulled up beside him and waved her arms at him - He
believes to try and get him to pull over. My driver Honks <the honk i
heard>. She then follows them for another mile cutting off several other
cars, and making multiple unsafe lane changes in the process, all while
on her cell phone yelling at me....
I truly hope the police
follow up on her complaint, since I have her cell phone number in my
caller ID. I would love to report 1>her multiple unsafe lane changes
2> Using the carpool lane without a passenger 3>driving on the shoulder 4> Surpassing Speed limits in a
Construction Zone 5> and all while talking on her cell phone NOT
using a hands free device <all 5 points illegal in CA> While My
driver was in ONE lane for more than a mile before the incident, through-out the
entire incident and beyond, and had NO glass on his truck as he had dropped off the last piece befoer entering the freeway. SMH

A bit of back story - our published hours :
OFFICE (Estimating & scheduling ): 8:30am-3:00pm MONDAY-THURSDAY
TECHNICIANS (installs & Measures) : 6:00am-4:30pm MONDAY-THURSDAY
TECHNICIANS (installs & Measures) : 6:00am-3:30pm FRIDAY
TECHNICIANS (installs & Measures) : Additional hours by special appointment
and our Answering machine message also states : We are out of the office on Fridays, you can reach us by-email in an emergency at <redacted>
Friday 4:48 VOICEMAIL : My name is <redacted> and i live at <redacted> - I need someone to come by and repair a window that the gardener broke. Please call me to tell me what time you'll be here so i can make arrangements.
Saturday 8:30 am VOICEMAIL : yes my name is <redacted>, i called last night about having my window repaired and no-one has called me back. I would like to know what time you are coming so i can plan my day around you.
Saturday 11:50am VOICEMAIL : (same voice, no attempt to identify herself- very irate and rude tone in voice) i've been sitting here since 8am and no-one Has called, and no-one has come by to fix my window.... Are you coming to fix it or not? Are you gonna even call me back?
Saturday 2:05pm VOICEMAIL : (same voice, no attempt to identify herself- twice as irate and volume in voice) I've been sitting here all FxxKin morning and still no phone call or contact, Someone needs to call me and let me know if you want the work or not!!! 510-<redacted>
Monday 9:05am PHONE CALL:
T -Good morning <Business Name> -
C - What the Hell happened - nobody showed up ever showed up and no-one called to tell me why ....
T - Excuse me, first of all, please tell me who i'm talking to....
C - my name is <redacted>, i called Friday afternoon to have my window repaired, i stayed home all day Saturday and no-body showed up or called me back to say you weren't coming
T - I'm sorry ma'am but we don't work on Saturdays. What is your address so I can determine if someone will be in your area today
C- THEN WHY THE HELL DIDN'T ANYONE CALL ME BACK AND TELL ME THAT FRIDAY!!!! I LIVE AT <redacted>
T - Ma'am you called after the last person had gone home, we didn't get any of your messages till we arrived this morning. I can Have someone come out this afternoon between 1pm and 3pm
C - THAT'S TOO EARLY, I HAVE A JOB SO IT WILL HAVE TO BE AFTER 6PM WHEN I GET HOME
T - Our last appointment is at 4:00, how about tomorrow morning (Tuesday) between 6:00-7:00 am
C - You're only 5 minutes away from me, why can't you come now - I already called in that I would be late...
T - I'm sorry but all our drivers are already out on their routes for the morning visiting customers who confirmed their appointments last week, I can offer you an appointment this afternoon, or tomorrow morning....
C - (EXTREMELY LOUD) THAT'S A PRETTY STUPID WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS, FORCING YOUR CUSTOMERS TO SIT WITH A WHOLE IN THEIR HOUSE ALL WEEKEND, THEN FORCING THEM TO TAKE TIME OFF ....DON'T YOU HAVE A DRIVER ON CALL FOR EMERGENCIES..... BLAH BLAH ...... I WORK DURING THE WEEK ..... NOT VERY CONVENIENT .....I DON'T GET HOME TILL 6PM ..... I HAVE A LIFE AND DON'T NEED TO BE SITTING AROUND WAITING FOR SOMEONE WHO ISN'T GONNA SHOW ....
T- (interrupted her tirade) I think maybe you'd be better off calling someone else, I don't feel we will be able to assist you to your satisfaction.
(i hung up as she was still yelling and reprimanding me for our poor business practice and lack of customer service)
