A Township Tale : What & Why to put in Stew

These are some things the tutorial doesn't tell you :

* Meats and some other food items are better cooked than raw - uncooked meats will make you ill

* Not all foods are created equal - different foods have different benefits

To make a stew :
  • Roast the ingredients near the campfire before adding them into the couldron. (Do not chop unless it's the only way it will fit, or if indicated on recipe)
  • Add first ingredient.
    • wait for it to turn to chunks in the water
    • nearly immediately you'll see a yellow spark
  • Add 2nd item.  Await chunks (no spark)
  • Add 3rd item.  Await chunks (no spark)
  • Add 4th, await chunks + yellow spark
  • Await 2nd WHITE spark.  This may take a while.   If you don't wait buff will be less potent.
  • Remove from heat, add salt and/or garlic

To Pre-Roast your ingredients CHEST/CRATE method :
  • TEST: Most important, place a few items in the chosen chest and leave them for at least a day to see if they change/reset.  I chose the wrong one for my first time and it reset while i was working losing over 200 pieces of food i had collected and cooked.
  • fill all but one slot with useless items, including : burnt wood - (no un-burnt wood, no grass)
  • add 1 piece of already cooked - for each food you plan on cooking that day
  • place 3 piece of wood and grass in bottom of chest and light
  • toss your uncooked food into the chest, and it should collect it into the storage orb as it cooks.
Advanced cooks : instead of one type at a time, place 1 of each already cooked food you plan on cooking into the orbs and then toss ALL the various uncooked items in the bottom as room is created - adding fresh wood as needed (the orbs will be removing the burnt up ones, as well as the cooked food)
